Ordered an item, never received a reply if the item was shipped. After 3 days I wrote to them, and they said it would be 4-5 WEEKS late. Since the person receiving the Christmas gift would no longer be visiting at the address being shipped to and the fact CHRISTMAS would be long over by then....all would be very dissappointed.

My application of this tool does not even come close to what I'd consider a test of its capabilities. It does everything I expected it to do, and gives the feeling that it could do a lot more.
One very minor criticism: I would urge Black & Decker to make it so that an operator doesn't need to go look for a jewelers (tiny) screwdriver to open the laser compartment simply to install a new battery.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I didn't pay a lot, but was surprised at the poor quality overall. B&D have gone downhill.
I wanted a basic jigsaw to make approx 30 curved cuts in 3/4" ply and that's all this saw is up for. The reciprocating mechanism that holds the blade were kind of sloppy loose to begin with but are now twisted a few deg off parallel w/ the baseplate. It makes any kind of straight cut impossible.
Also the laser light never worked and the power-on switch on the handle is so big that when you reach for it you often hit the switch, thus turning it on. Kind of dangerous I think.
Overall I'd stay away from this saw. It's poorly made / plasticy, just not a quality tool.

Well made jigsaw with all the features you can expect to get on a top end tool. This unit offers multiple speeds, laser guide, that is adjustable without disassembling the tool. There are many different blades available for all types of work. This tool is heavy enough to take a lot of the vibration felt in the hand out of play for a more comfortable working environment
