I received my saw about 6 weeks ago and other than the lousy packing or I should say the lack of it everything has been A OK. I checked all settings and they were right on the money.Its a lot quieter than my old craftsman,which I will give to my son in law.I have ripped 1 pc of maple, some plywood and several 2x4 s.I bought the 3812 without the stand as I had one that I made. Paid 355.00 for it on amazon.They better start filling the box with more foam,as the letters I have read all complain about the damage to their saws. Mine had a 2 inch hole in one end but no damage. The Porter-Cable 3812 10-inch portable table saw is equally at home at the work site or on the workbench in your garage. Designed for bench, stand, or sawhorse mounting, this table saw delivers clean, accurate cuts every time. Powered by a heavy-duty, 15 amp motor, and featuring a large, extra-wide, 24-1/2-inch rip capacity, the 3812 makes quick work of plywood. An easy-adjusting hand wheel allows the user to set the blade height effortlessly--up to 3-1/8 inches at 90 degrees. A clearly marked blade-tilting handle provides precise angling, too, while an electric brake provides an added level of assurance between cuts, saving time in the process. And finally, under-table storage makes setup and transportation a breeze. In addition to the saw itself, the 3812 comes standard with a Riptide 24T carbide-tipped blade, premium miter gauge, rip fence, quick-release blade guard, and blade wrenches.
